Above All Things
Clifford Denton

Some theology books are thicker than the Bible. We search endlessly to express new discoveries about life on this earth and our hope of eternal life. Sometimes a new question arises that gives way to new volumes and countless sermons. Among these is the search for the roots of the Christian faith that we sometimes have called The Jewish Roots in order to express a desire for balance and restoration of what was lost.

In this Tishrei journal is evidence of the abundance of material that is piling up on this renewed path of enquiry. In the midst of this we can so easily drift into theory, which soon becomes dry. We might even do what we set out not to do, turning our search for a closer walk with God into an academic exercise, where Greek philosophy becomes yet another counterfeit to Hebraic faith.

From time to time we must write in capital letters the central truth that is higher than all else, thereby bringing ourselves back to balance:

YESHUA HAMASHIACH (JESUS THE MESSIAH) HAS DIED FOR OUR SINS SO THAT, THROUGH FAITH IN HIM, WE HAVE FELLOWSHIP WITH OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN.
